Reflection of the Day
August 11th, 2008 · No Comments
UncategorizedNow, ahora, today, I am mucho teched-up in comparision to where I was when I walked into the workshop this morning. However, even though I have created a web site, opened gmail and yahoo accounts, posted to the the RCWP and my own blog, whether I will actually remember the steps to replicating all of these tasks is the question. Today, I use technology to compose pages and chapters of documents, send e-mail, and so on…. as far as RCWP, I have taken part in Summer Institute 2001, presented an advanced institure, faciliated the original Teachers as writers, attended a few continuity events, and have been lucky to get into this workshop.
En cinco anos I hope that I will be able to take a more active role in RCWP, perhaps by assisting in one or more of the summer institutes, and I would also like to become more active in NWP. Perhaps I could serve as a mentor for new or veteran teachers who would care to exchange e-mails, co-teach lessons (my favorite thing to do besides write), or just a listening ear. To be honest, I think teachers need more than tech. They need appreciation, understanding, and a continual stream of ideas for how to carve out a few moments during the day for themselves–to catch their breath–perhaps write, if only to rant.
